Why We Do It
“How many times are we expected to just keep responding to the same persons’ overdose?!" They’re just going to overdose again tomorrow!”
I will forever remember the palpable frustration and apathy when a case manager asked me this at an overdose training many years ago. He was tired. He was burned out. I felt for him. And yet, I couldn’t stop thinking about people in my life that had experienced multiple opioid overdose reversals, and were alive today because someone decided to give them naloxone again.
“Endless,” I answered.
“An endless amount of times, an endless number of revivals.”
We believe that communities are best supported when staff are best supported. That’s why we focus on getting data driven information about drugs and the people who use them directly to employees.
After decades of working in the nonprofit industrial complex, we know that nonprofit teams are trying their best to support their clients. Sometimes in the day to day, proper education about substance use gets pushed down the priority list, leaving staff with ill equipped to help clients, and in turn completely burned out. That’s where we come in.
As people with lived/living experience with drug use and the nonprofit industrial complex, we are your experts! All of our trainings are from people who have been on both sides, giving us a unique ability to support your staff members in working with people who use drugs.

Some topics are just too big to cover in one day! Multiday trainings for course level engagement and more advanced topics. This option allows us to dive deeper into the topic, and breaks up content over multiple days give learners a chance to digest information and come back refreshed.

Staff have a busy schedule? This options allows for self paced learning with a fully virtual, interactive training module available to your organization for our contract period. E-Learning modules are customizable, and work best when combined with live training.
